International Bushi Martial Arts Championships

Sigung and Kitchener Kicks have been asked to represent Canada at the upcoming International Bushi Martial Arts Championships, August 27th to 30th in New York City. This event will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent your country in Martial Arts competition against other countries of the world.

This event is considered a “destination” tournament, in that it involves travel to a foreign country, and we will be able to plan a very nice holiday around the event, and New York City is certainly a fabulous holiday destination. We’ve done destination tournaments in the past to Mexico, Jamaica, Panama, etc., but in the past, these events involved mandatory travel agency packages of 7 days minimum, and cost over $2000 per person. Now, an entire family of 4 could attend this event for less than $3000, flight included. (Please see attached example costs for family of 4). Nations invited to the Bushi event include; Canada, USA, Britain, Italy, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and more.

Please review the accompanying “Event Cost Estimate”. The idea with presenting this package well in advance of the event, is so we have time to save for the holiday, and we need to convey our intent to commit to forming a team to the event organizers. You are committed only by the payments you make toward the event. There are no refunds. The Canadian Team is currently open to all members of Kitchener Kicks, members of our affiliated clubs through the CKKA, and our friends & clubs with whom we compete at KarateMaynia, and on the NMAC circuit. There will be a limit to the number of people making the Canadian Team, as accommodations are limited to each country competing.

The first information session will be here at the club on Sunday December 8th at 12:00 noon. The first required down payment is for accommodations only, and is due by December 15th to get a discounted room rate, or by February 1st for the regular room rate. If you commit to the December 15th deadline, Kitchener Kicks will pay the U.S. exchange rate on your total down payment. ALL accommodations, registrations, etc. associated with the event, (except travel) MUST be made through Kitchener Kicks in order to be eligible to attend, and/or compete in the International Bushi Martial Arts Championship for the Canadian Team. Please feel free to contact Sigung any time should you have any questions, or require further information, especially if you are unable to attend the information session on December 8th.

Thank you.
